Architecture & Design – Byblos

To me, Alternative is bluntly an avant-garde movement working towards a better reality.

The School of Architecture and Design has all the potential to develop and achieve big results, however, limitations by political parties which have been driving it only resulted in stagnation. Even our NAAB accreditation board sees our school as an element with great potential had the proper efforts for change been present.

To begin with, I mainly believe that students should have their own space to work. The standards and quality of our courses should be followed up closely to the proper channels. Our end of semester evaluations should be taken more seriously. We need, and must have, our own comfortable studio space. There should be a budget for every Design class to purchase materials and distribute equally among class members.

Our vending machines should be full 24 hours; a prerequisite for our countless “nuites-blanches”.

De facto:

There is a huge gap between us, the students, and the administration.

This situation can be changed:

Together we can bridge this gap.

It is time for the change; Alternative that is now at hand.

I, Lily Hamouche, have a purpose and goal to voice the students’ needs, concerns and demands.

Vote for someone who is willing and able to go above and beyond to achieve higher standards

Vote for someone responsible enough to represent everyone.

Vote for the fundamental, the rational, the radical.

Vote Alternative
